Apple suing Amazon over 'Appstore'

Apple are to sue Amazon over the use of the name of their new download applications store for Google's Android operating systems.
Amazon's 'Appstore' launched today and is available to US customers only at present. It sells games such as Angry Birds Rio and World of Poker for android systems.
Apple is seeking to trademark the name "App Store' in the US and has contacted Amazon three times demanding it stop using the name.
Apple spokeswoman Kirstin Huguet says, "It will confuse and mislead customers."
The lawsuit states;
"Amazon has begun improperly using Apple's App Store mark in connection with Amazon's mobile software developer program.
"Consumers of mobile software downloads are likely to be confused as to whether Amazon's mobile software download service is sponsored or approved by Apple."
